Social conformity

Is this a real thing? Do we really experience social conformity? The answer is yes!

To begin, let’s clarify what does it mean. Social conformity is the fact of having matching attitudes, beliefs and behaviors in a group of person. For example, someone who buy a t-shirt that fit in the current trend even if he don’t love it that much, instead of buying the t-shirt that he really want just to follow the norms that social conformity made. I think the greatest explanation of this phenomenon is that it’s easier to conform than to standing out of the crowd, it’s save bad judgment from others and it will make you fit in the society automatically with no efforts. Personally i don’t think it’s good in the society because it makes some people not happy to be obligated of doing thing they don’t like just to fit in the society. Everyone should be accepted with the decisions they take and be accepted for the person they are truly. For my case, i have a personal experience about social conformity that i’m ready to share with you. When i was about 15 year old i was loving to listening country music but it was not the trend at my age so everyone started to judge me, i started listening rap music like everybody because they influence me in a certain way and the judgment stop. We are not conscious about all these social norms and yet, a lot of the decisions we take is unconsciously based on these norms just to be accepted.
